Common Questions Regarding Plastic Surgery

Do you offer financing?
Financing is available through the American Society of Plastic Surgery's Patient Financing Program. For more information or to apply, please click here. You can also call or visit the office for details. Our provider number is 7728.

What about confidentiality?
Information concerning patients and their treatment is confidential and is released only with the permission of the patient.

Should I undergo cosmetic surgery?
The decision to undergo cosmetic surgery requires careful consideration by the patient and the physician. The patient should consider what can reasonably be undertaken surgically, motivation, risks involved, and costs. Since it is important for the patient to learn about the surgery and the doctor's qualifications, there is no fee for a cosmetic consultation. This also allows the doctor to evaluate the patient. A consultation does not carry obligation to undergo the surgery. Literature and video tapes may also be used to explain the proceedure.

At the time of the consultation, a definite fee for the surgery will be given. This fee includes care after the surgery until healing is complete. An estimate of the cost of the surgical facility is also available.

What does this symbol mean?
Symbol for Board Certified Plastic SurgeonThis symbol of excellence designates plastic surgeons who are members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Plastic surgeons who display this symbol are dedicated to the highest standards of patient care and continuing development of professional skill and competence.

What about photographs?
Photographs may be taken before and after surgery. These photographs only include the area of the body involved in the surgical procedure. They are for the purposes of record and will NOT be shown to other patients. If they are of an area of the body other than the face, the face will not be included. Sometimes patients suggest that the opportunity to see "before and after" photographs would be helpful in making a decision involving surgery. The visual presentation is unquestionably better than the oral presentation. However, photographs can be misleading. Surgical potential for a particular patient cannot be demonstrated easily via photographs. Viewing of such photographs may lead to unwarranted conclusions.

Is a physician I'm considering qualified?
There are no legal or medical establishment restrictions as to which physicians may call themselves "plastic surgeons". The training and qualifications of different physicians doing plastic surgery may differ greatly. Therefore, it is in the best interest of any person seriously considering plastic surgery to know the qualifications of their surgeon.

What forms of payment do you accept?
Our office currently accepts cash, check, Visa and Mastercard. Financing is also available (see first question).
